Bunk’Art 1 is one of the most unique museums in Tirana, located inside a huge underground bunker built during Albania’s communist period. The museum combines original rooms, tunnels and military facilities with modern multimedia exhibitions that explain the history of the regime, daily life under dictatorship and the role of the army.
Visitors walk through long corridors, command rooms and secret spaces while reading stories, watching videos and looking at original documents and objects. The experience is immersive, emotional and very informative, making Bunk’Art 1 an essential stop for anyone who wants to understand Albania’s recent past.
The bunker is located at the edge of Tirana, close to the Dajti cable car station, and is easy to reach by taxi or bus.
