The Blue Eye, or Syri i Kaltër, is a natural spring famous for its intense blue colour and seemingly bottomless depth. Surrounded by dense trees and walking paths, the spring looks like a giant blue eye emerging from the earth and is one of the most popular nature stops in southern Albania.
Visitors can follow a short trail from the parking area to reach the main viewpoint platforms, take photos of the swirling blue water and relax in the nearby café or picnic areas. Swimming in the spring itself is usually restricted to protect the site, but there are rivers and natural pools in the area.
The Blue Eye is often combined with day trips from Sarandë, Ksamil or Gjirokastër and is an easy nature escape for all ages.
